Coinstar Sr Engineering Technician in Bellevue, Washington
The Senior Engineering Technician is responsible for all technical rework, troubleshooting, test execution and general support for the design and test activities for a product line from initial design to production release and support. This position will work closely with our Technical Services and Supply Chain teams.
Facilitate and manage kiosk hardware/firmware beta tests.
Coordinate with Field Ops to install/remove components to be tested.
Monitor test kiosks via Dashboard, Kaseya, RSI, etc.
Document beta test data via Excel, Word, SQL.
Coordinate with HEG engineers and developers to address issues found during the beta testing.
Create beta test report.
Assist with procedures for kiosk hardware/software installation and coordinate with internal technical writers to publish.
Field technician instructions; coordinate with Technical Services and Field Ops.
Manufacturing instructions; coordinate with Supply Chain manufacturing engineer.
Assist with kiosk training documentation.
Mobile Technical Library pages.
Country specific documentation, in support of international expansion.
Document control and configuration management responsibilities to include:
Create ECO’s to document new parts and parts revisions.
Create parts kits.
Create MCO’s to add/delete parts from Logistics Tracking Database.
Approver for ECO’s and MCO’s.
Respond to Field Ops requests concerning kiosk parts issues.
Investigate parts and software issues and concerns from Field Ops.
Coordinate with HEG and/or Supply Chain for parts issues.
Coordinate with SEG for software issues.
Perform prototype-level testing and validation.
Properly fill out test reports, data sheets, test charts, etc., as required per process.
Develop test plans to support hardware and software engineering.
Develop and maintain test data and/or files.
Assist in the assembly and shipping of prototypes as needed.
Build, test prototype devices as requested by engineering and management groups.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Electronics preferred or equivalent experience.
5+ years’ hands-on experience working with a design team.
3+ years’ engineering/support experience including hardware verification, initial PCBA bring up and system test elements.
System test an/or manufacturing test experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of engineering root-cause analysis with both Hardware and Software level support elements.
Ability to work across Manufacturing, Software and Product Management functions to ensure project deliverables are met.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot unique issues.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in, and through, diverse, cross-functional teams.
- This position requires little to no business travel.
Sedentary work involves remaining in a stationary position most of the time in front of a computer, using a keyboard, mouse and telephone. Regularly operate a computer and other office equipment. Occasionally move about the work site to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or regularly move objects. Communicate and exchange information with co-workers and other individuals in person and electronically.
